The legendary Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” LAS VEGAS SHOW RESIDENCY is still thrilling audiences in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.
Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.
More than just being one of the best-selling and most successful live artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the music that defined generations — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.
In early 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences worldwide through tribute artist Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.
Ask Siri “who is America’s number one Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll always hear Rob Garrett.
Like his idol, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In the spring of 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett formed his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a successful 15-year run in Las Vegas and across the nation before transitioning from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.
In 1995, Garrett was personally Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute Show Las Vegas cheap tickets hired by Paul Revere (of The Raiders) to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.
What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a three-year residency.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to go independent.
He began a busy tour circuit, building a devoted fan base along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”
He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues that typically host major artists.
Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.
Alexis Park Resort Hotel is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., just ¼ mile west of Paradise Rd..
